I am considering purchasing a High Country Excalibur compound bow?
Any opinions on that specific model if you have had one?
I don't expect this to matter, but I've been bow hunting for years, and have never bought a new bow. I've had three, and never paid more than $100. You can find used bows in just about every bow shop. Just as most any decent automobile will get you where you're going, most any bow made in the last 10-15 years will work, assuming the shooter practices.
